The Last King of Scotland

I said that to see romantic comedy is not bad once in while before last post. I saw two of that and so I am fulfiled for two months before :-)))

Ok, here is a little change of genre. I said little? No, of course not little but absolute difference. This is next movie filmed in the "black continent". The story of the movie is based on the events of government of Uganda's dictator Idi Amin.

The young Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan comes full of life, enthusiasm and ideals to help people to Africa to Uganda. I think to be so much idealistic is not good ever. And this makes itself right very soon. Garrigan thinks whole world is just going around him. Yes, it is very fun at the beginning... but he is afraid of his alone life at the end because Amin isn't so good person like Garrigan thought.

The movie is very, very good and actor Forest Whitaker - Idi Amin look so fully authentic. Well I can't say it exactly because I didn't know right Idi Amin but what is saying people of Uganda, Forest is almost like Amin. Thoughts and images of Amin and his terrible acts return back to these people after watching this movie. I found that there was killed about 300.000 people in Uganda during the two years, the period of his dictature.

A Good Year

I am movie maniac. I can't to call that in other way, next movie in the next day.

Can you believe that director Ridley Scott can make other kind of movie then his Alien, Gladiator, etc.? Yes, he can and this movie A Good Year is proof of that. Nice and lovely romantic comedy with great actor Russell Crow in main role. You don't totally crack up but you'll keep smile almost whole movie.

But the other side you can feel a nostalgia because especially shots in old house, garden and vineyard are so nostalgic and beautiful.

The Holiday

Glass of good Chile's wine, cheese of Emmenthal kind, me alone in my bed and this movie... this is screenplay of this evening and it was great, ... just ease.

I thought that the movie is hollywood sweety classic. Well exactly it is but it is great and amazing movie too. I like these romantic movies with funny items (too ;-) exactly, I like more kind of movies)... well, once in while it is not bad to watch the kind of movie.

This movie is just about love. Even I know that the happy-end is almost impossible in real life but it's not problem in this movie. It's good.

Main actors are great too, especialy Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. And ofcourse Jack Black is man to create for funny roles. I could see him in comedy Nacho Libre and he was so funny there. And the fourth main actor Jude Law. I don't know him so much and he wasn't bad.

And I noticed two scenes which would not have there. Actually only one and it is a look to the Dustin Hoffman when Kate and Jack are in the dvd shop. And I would little change the second scene where is look to the breathing Cameron in a bed after having sex. Her top should be down, don't you think? :-) I am. But it is not important thing of this movie.

Well, if you want see a romantic comedy (best with your love) I can recommend just this movie.

Apocalypto

I was wondering to next movie from Mel Gibson like director. I think he takes pleasure in bloody scenes because these bloody shots in this movie are precise. We could make certain of it in movie known by named The Passion of the Christ.

The main feature of Apocalypto is son of headman, named Jaguar Paw, of one indian group. Who is little similar like that man? Oh, I get it, Ronaldinho - Brazilian footballer, now player of FC Barcelona... but don't tell him that, he would kill me. Ok, back about movie. Beginning part of movie is very quick, mainly editing (jumps) in those scenes... look to the forest, look to the wild pig and look to the snaring savages and then cuting up in portions of the pig, especially eating pigs balls, oh... nasty.

Well, we can take a little knowledge about how probably these natives lived in their villages. Even they knew that principle is family - man, woman and children. And about that is actualy whole movie. The people lives their satisfied lifes until manhunters invade their village and they murdering them, raping women, firing buildings... And Jaguar Paw save your wife and son in close cave before deportation him and people of the village to sale of people.

There are killed a lot of these people... but Jaguar Paw returns back to the village to his wife, which meanwhile gives birth to a baby in the cave in the end.

And everybody lives hapilly together. And maybe they are living there now if they didn't die.
No this movie isn't funny, sorry... It's great movie, seriously. If you don't believe me so watch that.
